Hand Foot & Mouth ransacked Northfield and hit Evvie hard. Day one she was a feverish, cuddly lump pressed into the couch. Day two she broke out around her mouth followed by her hands and then her feet. Nights were sleepless scream-fests. We treated her with ibuprofen, magic mouthwash and popsicles. It passed within 5 days aside from the residual flaky feet. We only minimally retain resentment toward her vector…
I worried that we should keep her quarantined from Rives, who was scheduled to arrive with Kate, but Evvie rebounded well and was back to her usual antics upon their arrival.
Kate arrived armed with toys and clothes. Evvie took to her immediately with hugs and squeals typically reserved for Matt and me. Their bond is insane. I considered leaving on vacation for the week.
While Matt and I were working, Kate and Ev created Father’s Day masterpieces.

Matt and I ran away to the Stowe Mountain Resort for a night on our own. We returned to Ev throwing peace signs and controlling armies of stuffed animals with her iphone on her new potty.
