The first big decision to make when packing the baby bag for the trip to the PNW wss which naked doll to bring. Big Baby and Original Baby made the cut (for those interested).
Delta took good care of us on our flight from Detroit to Seattle. E didn’t sleep a wink, but threw only one minor tantrum and Matt changed both diapers. So, all in all, it was great.
We made it! Ev was thrilled to lose the snowsuit and stomp in puddles gloveless
A busy few days in town based at Clara B’s house was glorious. The girls were reunited, the adult crew went out for an indulgent evening, and Kate took care of everything.
Evvie realized quickly she was the star of the Park Shore breakfast show and charmed her way in, out and under each table. She learned GPa is an excellent high-fiver. One of his several skill sets.
Gena and Henry met us at the park on their way to Park Shore! We traded babies. Tough not to just sit around with these two forver.
But at least we had Bainbridge to distract me from my sadness! The power went out minutes after our arrival, which made the new house feel a bit like the old house, but candles and comforters kept us cozy and sent us to sleep early in preparation for a fabulous few days in my favorite place.
And clearly, seeing friends and Ketchams was the trip’s highlight, but let’s not forget the intention for the return. There was a 150# hog to be roasted. The always epic roast began gloriously with Matt Kingston’s brew and a warm tub.
And ended with Pete Kingston’s sauce and a pig carcass.

The next day, as Evvie helped to clean and paint, Charlie claimed Big Bear while Crissy was showered with baby gear. Surrounded by Bainbridge ladies who have loved her since birth and me (who has loved her since my birth), it was an awesome party in a beautiful new venue. She found out this week that baby GIRL is perfect and joining us in June.
As usual, Crissy and I didn’t take a damn picture together. So use your imagination.
Evvie was exhausted after all her work and her third eardrum rupture! Matt was exhausted for other reasons. I love this pair!
