Yes, of course! Mom kindly sent 4 iterations of this spectacular scene from the Bainbridge porch in late November. Despite the initial gut punch of homesickness, I feel happy to be on this adventure. I’m surrounded by some very nice people and learning to appreciate the beauty of ‘stick season.’
Thanksgiving week highlights included solo time with Lyd, who introduced us to Erin her sleep magician friend. Erin is helping us gently teach Ev to Go the F*#! to Sleep in her own bed. Cinda roasted a 28 (yep) pound pterodactyl turkey for 6 of us. It was fantastic, somewhat surprisingly, I gotta admit. Thank god ’cause we’re eating turkey everything for the next month. Ev enjoyed some turkey, but preferred sweet potatoes, stuffing and dinner rolls.
Matt started “orientation” at Green Mountain Family Practice. His days are full of complex medicine. Day 1 he sutured a farmer’s thigh. Matt, the guy who defines the art of medicine gracefully navigates each encounter with old teachers, friends, family, friends of friends, friends of parents, friends of ex’s etc.

Evelyn and I spent the first week practicing driving steep hills in ice and mud and spending Matt’s paycheck at the Falls General Store, a new addition to the town that makes me feel totally at home. Norma taught Ev how to ride in a shopping basket and man the cash register.
