Landed

A little summary of our first week:

A week went by quickly at the original Sullivan house. We all survived. No one is yet CAGE positive. Evvie enjoyed her first 28 degree day bundled like a Seattleite by her clueless mother. She placed “long puffy coat” on the top of her Christmas list to Kate Santa.

We walk the fields around the Sullivan house a lot enjoying new trees, quiet and the spectacular view.  Ev hasn’t been able to see any airplanes, but now finds the moon faster than we do. From Craig and Cinda’s house we can see the land of ours. We’re debating grooming a snowmobile track versus erecting a wall with spycams…

Evening stroll with my favorite pair after a hilltop FaceTime with Grandma

My pride and I have spent a few quiet moments accepting the frequency with which I hear the phrase “Matt’s wife.”

Home sickness is real! Evvie lights up when Kate is on FaceTime. It’s so sweet. She bats her hands and squeals. Charlie Bucket turns her head and pretends she can’t hear. To each her own.

Our cars (excuse me, our car and Man Truck) arrived without a scratch. The first round of Hunter Blvd belongings also arrived, but the driver of the van refused to drive up Messier Hill (bodes well for me in winter). Matt met him in town and Evvie and Poppy were finally reunited. She sat like this for at least one minute and drags him everywhere. The whole family can now recite “Story time!” and “Come along and count with me” in Poppy’s accent.
