After a double triple Maker’s, I asked Matt, “What are we doing?” We had spent another evening grumbling about work and worrying about Craig. If this were a Nicholas Sparks movie (as it should be per Michael G.), you (the audience) would be growing tired of the nightly ritual and wishing for intrigue, adultery, suspense. This was becoming tiresome.
After engaging the obligatory pro/con list exercise we came to the decision to head to Vermont. We know Craig could use some (unsolicited) assistance at Green Mountain Family Practice and we know we are in a unique position to support him. We hope to offload some of the work he’s been shouldering since his partners left and allow him more time for home “projects!”
Thank you for recognizing our altruism! However, the move is selfish (oldest child delusion of grandeur syndrome). To practice alongside Craig in the town that raised Matt is indescribably special. It will be winter. It will be tough. We will likely drive each other crazy (I have ordered everyone a new copy of The 5 Love Languages), but it’s the right move for us and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity!
The logistics of moving our household across the country within days of leaving Qliance somewhat sour our enthusiasm and don’t even talk to me about leaving my family, neighbors and friends. If you’ll miss us half as much, we’d love for you to follow our journey. Mostly, this blog is for us – It’s that journal and baby book and family photo album I keep planning to write.
If you are still reading, cast your vote and predict our return date:
- Nancy can’t handle frozen nose hairs – back in 6 months
- Matt misses the boat formerly known as META-NAVILUS too much – back in 2 years
- Bernie ropes them into his campaign – They ain’t coming back
- I can’t see the screen through my tears and therefore will not be participating
